Gettin’ Cozy With Poetry: The Perfect Weekend for Poets

In response to requests for generative workshops that include feedback and critique, we’ve designed a brand new poetry weekend experience! In this retreat, poets will generate new work from prompts and exercises as well as receive group feedback on 2 previously written poems. We understand that hearing critique can be unnerving, but it’s a good way to become a better poet. We’ll discuss the “RWC Rules for Feedback” before the workshops so that every participant can know what to expect. Our goal is to be kind, caring, constructive, and communicative, and treat each poet (and poem!) with respect.

Retreaters may bring 2 poems (each poem should be 50 lines or less) they consider still under revision – more than a first draft, but not yet ready to be submitted. We will read the poems together and offer feedback.

Come join us for the perfect weekend for poets! We’ll weave lots of free time between workshops and get cozy in our comfortable, warm farmhouse as we read, write, revise, and learn from each other. Poets of all levels are welcome.
